Author: Michael Musgrave

Michael is a fourth year PhD student in the Department of Geography and Sustainable Development. Born in South Africa, he graduated from Rhodes University and the University of the Witwatersrand with degrees in Zoology and African Ecology. Michael works on issues surrounding forest management and common pool resource theory in Barotseland, western Zambia. He has spent most of his life in Southern Africa and has observed much of that regions recent history first hand. Much of Michael’s assessment of events in Africa is based on 20 years of experience in business, consulting and travel in the region, and few hard knocks on the head when he got too close to turbulent events.
